The Visual Cultures of Magazines

Artists, in collaboration with journalists, have created a form of public art within magazine culture that is often antithetical or antagonistic to art historical analysis. From an editor's perspective, this research brings to light the little known spaces of magazines, investigates their potential for contesting interpretations and reappraising reputations and suggests ways if re-imagining the archive.
