Professor Lucy-Anne Hunt

Interests - Christian-Muslim artistic and cultural interaction in the Middle Ages, particularly during the period if the Crusades. This involves interconnections between Byzantium, Islam and the Mediaeval West. Special areas of interest include wall painting, icons and the production of illustrated manuscripts in the Eastern Mediterranean, especially Egypt, Syria and the Holy Land.

Interests - The relationship between technology and design for printed textiles from 1675 to 1925. The main sources of evidence are textile pattern books and business archives. Thus there is a correlated interest in making these sources more widely available.
