Don't Kick The Bucket (Cotton Factory Times, 23 September 1910)

What was potentially one of the most serious disputes in the industry occurred in 1910 when the employers locked out the spinners. The dispute originated at Fern Mill in Shaw, not far from where Fitton lived. In this cartoon he used the simple visual metaphor of the football match to ask if the employers would play the game with the ball of common sense.
