Dong Bingfeng
Deputy Director of the Iberia Centre for Contemporary Art in Beijing

An account of the trends in contemporary artists' film in China including the rise of the independents, documentary film and experiments with media. In this illustrated lecture, Bingfeng argues these three movements have emerged as the main formats of artists' film, growing out of their conventional exhibiting spaces and cross-pollinating with theatre, performance and the internet.

Accompanied by a special screening of three short films from China at the Cornerhouse, Manchester, on Tuesday 11 October at 6pm.

See Cornerhouse's website and printed guide for more details.
